The last edition of the Decanter World Wine Awards, one of the most recognized contests in the world, has left us three medals in the Sierra Norte.

Pasión de Bobal red 2015 has obtained a silver medal, and Pasión de Bobal rosé 2016 and Fuenteseca white 2016, two bronze medals.

The prizes are always a revulsive. We know they have their face and their cross, but we also know that for many people they are a guide on which to choose a good wine, and we like that ours are present and are an option for many consumers.

In this case we have been awarded three wines that are very significant for us.

Pasión de Bobal red needs few presentations. Since its first vintage it has been very well received and has got many awards. It is a wine with many fans, and that will always be the best prize for us. Pasión de Bobal is made only with Bobal grape from old vineyards with more than 60 years. The selected vintage, the process of elaboration with hardly any intervention and the six months of passage through the barrel result in a wine that these fans define as ‘delicious’, ‘elegant’, ‘different’… To find your own word that defines this wine, you must prove it if you have not already done so. Pasión de Bobal rosé is pure elegance, because of its color it might seem that we are going to find a delicate wine, but with the first sip shows its expression, fruity and floral. It is an agile and lively wine, with a magnificent mouth evolution. We are talking to every sip and also in the aftertaste, which is long and tasty.

Fuenteseca is one of our wine brands with more travel and that reaches more countries. In this family we find three wines, white, rosé and red, all of them with the ecological wine certification and with a good collection of medals to their credit. In this case it was Fuenteseca white who has added one more in the Decanters. In it, the variety that orders is the Macabeo, a grape of our zone, ideal for young whites, as it is the case, and that in this occasion we have combined with Sauvignon Blanc to obtain a wine with aromas with white flower, tropical fruit, apricot skin and touches of fennel. Complex and elegant, fresh, spacious and tasty.
